Recently, there has been a lot about the flu in the media whether it has been the seasonal flu or H1N1 virus. There has been a lot of discussions about the new vaccines and if they will work. Most of the time the vaccines can be effective for the flu. That is one of the beauties of modern Western medicine. However, what happens when we actually get the flu? There is not really that much that Western medicine can offer besides some antiviral medication and let the virus pass. In severe cases though some people who get the flu may have to go to the hospital to be monitored or treated. Chinese medicine offers great treatment and prevention options for the Flu.
Chinese medicine is a complete medical system that treats and diagnoses disease. A Chinese physician will treat the root cause of the disease that will enable your body to self heal naturally. Chinese medicine consists of five different branches mainly acupuncture, Chinese herbs, tui na ( Chinese massage), food therapy, and exercise. All the the branches of Chinese medicine are able to treat disease. For the flu, the most effective methods utilized are acupuncture and herbs.
Acupuncture and herbs have been used to treat the flu for over 3,000 years. In ancient times the name of the virus was different, but signs and symtoms have been the same. According to Chinese medical theory there are 6 exogenous pathogenic factors which are wind, heat, dryness, summer-heat, dampness, and cold. These factors can attack the body resulting in illness. The flu is usually a combination of wind cold or wind heat attacking the body. Also, these pathogenic factors can attack the body in different stages if there is no treatment or improper treatment. Some of the signs and symptoms that one may have are chills, fever, sweating or no sweating, cough, headache, runny nose, muscle aches, sore throat, floating pulse, pink tongue with little white coat, or tongue with red tip yellowish coat. A Chinese physician can do a diagnosis to determine which type of pattern of disharmony is going on then use the proper treatment.
The best treatment method in my opinion as a Chinese physician is using both acupuncture and herbs. For acupuncture, a Chinese physician would use points that help release the exterior and tonify the defensive qi. Such points are Lu7,GB 20, Li4, and St 36. If there are any other signs and symptoms other acupuncture points can be used. Herbal treatment will depend on what pattern of disharmony is going on, if the patient has a mild case with sore throat Yin Qian San may be appropiate. If it is more sever Gan Mao Ling will work. If the patient does not present any heat signs, but more cold signs herbal formula will include Jing Fang Bai Du San. These herbal formulas are powerful and they also have anti-viral properties. Some of the single herbs that have anti-viral properties include Jin Yin Hua, Lian Qiao, Ma Huang, Gui Zhi, Ban Lan Gen, and Da Qing Ye. There are many herbs with anti-viral properties.
A typical patient that comes into our clinic for treatment with the flu, can expect to feel better within 1-2 days. Through the use of herbs and acupuncture the body can be strengthened and able to heal itself. Other good remedies that a Chinese physician may have a patient do at home is to cook an orange in the oven for 30 min. at 375 degrees and eat it warm. This will help with the coughing and any chest congestion. Drinking ginger tea will also help with symptoms and provide some relief.
Chinese medicine is powerful and a great alternative to all of the medications that are out there. Feel free to give us a call for a FREE consultation at (801) 463-1101 or to learn more about how we can help you achieve greater health and happiness.

Independent living if you are deaf or hearing impaired
The equipment available for deaf and hearing impaired people to use at home includes textphones, listening devices and alerting devices such as specially adapted doorbells and alarm clocks.
Equipment and Aids for Home and Work
Help is available with everyday situations involving telephones, textphones and listening equipment. Extra aids include induction loops which work with your hearing aid, alarms, alarm clocks, doorbells and teletext adapters.
You can get equipment and advice about the different types of aids available from social services, National Health Service audiology departments and voluntary organisations.
Telephone Aids
Devices to help you use the telephone include:
* handsets with inductive couplers
* amplifiers
* extension bells
* text display
Alarm clocks and watches
Alarm clocks for deaf or hard of hearing people can work in different ways. The key features for clocks are that they:
* vibrate under the pillow to alert the user
* have a flashing light
* have an extra loud sound alarm
You can also buy watches that vibrate.
Doorbells and equipment that alerts you to sounds in your home
As well as doorbells that alert you by a flashing light or a very loud ringing bell there are other multi-alerting systems that can be used to attract your attention to different sounds in your home, for example when the telephone rings.
Smoke alarms and fire safety
You can get smoke alarms that use strobed light and vibrating pads to warn you at the first sign of fire.
Vibrating-pad smoke alarms are specially fitted with a vibrating pad which are connected to the smoke alarm and can be placed under your pillow or mattress. The pad vibrates when the alarm is activated.
Strobe lights which are fitted to a smoke alarm will emit a flashing strobe light warning when the smoke alarm is activated.
Linked alarms are connected to all the other smoke alarms in the building, and ensure that if any one smoke smoke alarm is activated, it triggers all linked alarms. This means that even if the fire is some distance from where you are, you will know about it and can leave the building before it gets any closer to you.
It is recommended that you contact a qualified electrician to install linked alarms.
To find out more about these smoke alarms, advice on planning your escape and where to go for help and advice, download the brochure 'Fire safety for people with sight, hearing or mobility difficulties'.

How do I make my hair stop falling out?
If you have given you hair lots of trouble over the past like having perms, straighten your hair, dyeing your hair, bleaching it, use commercial hair products, you can be sure your hair falls out. It may be so bad that your hair is falling out so badly that clumps of it comes out at a time. So how does one stop hair falling?
The first step to stop hair damage is to stop applying heat to your hair
Give the blow dryer a break for a few months. You should then use a wide-toothed comb, which will not only be easy on your hair but will also offer a massage to your hair allowing fast hair growth
Also stop using commercial hair treatments, because these will actually worsen the situation in the long run, stick with all natural treatments like Mira hair oil
To stop your hair from falling you need to take vitamins and minerals, a good supplement is ashwagandha which you can find here
Next you want to bring stress down to a halt, a good yoga class will help reduce stress and stop hair fall, you also want to take power naps throughout the day
use Mira hair oil as a leave in conditioner multiple times a week, it is perfect because it will not weigh your hair down or make it greasy, looking
Never wash your hair with hot water and always use Luke-warm water and rinsing with cold works wonders... the best bet is to alternate with Luke warm water and cold water
To stop hair fall be sure to cut off all of the hair that is damaged. If your hair is too short be sure to Mira hair oil, it will make your hair grow longer and thicker
It is important to try to keep the length it a decent level and free of split ends
Finally you want to stop dyeing your hair, if you want to dye your hair be sure to put high lights into your hair with a cap as protection, so you keep the dye from touching your head or simply just give you hair a break from any chemical treatment
Whiles it is a fat that severe hair problems like hair fall will cause stress and anguish you need to keep your hair all natural and stay away from commercial hair products
.you want to use good “stop hair falling” home remedies which can be made at home and which work well to control hair fall. To stop hair loss simply applies a little lemon juice with some black tea. Massage well into the hair and scalp and shampoo with a natural shampoo. Next you want to use Mira hair oil and .Rub the oil gently into the scalp.
Then wring out a towel in hot water and wrap it over your head. Allow it to soak for 1 hour and then shampoo and dry well.

Alternative Therapiey for Autism
Alternate Therapies for Autism
This page is designed to help you do research finding help and solutions that improve the autism symptoms. You can use this reference page to search further on many and various therapies that have helped others. New products and theories are showing up all the time.
There are many different therapies that have helped many people with "mental problems", ranging from ADD/ADHD/Autism to depression, and even schizophrenia. Some (such as EEG Biofeedback (aka Neurofeedback (NFB)) or End Point Titration (EPT) or Hyperbaric (oxygen tanks), etc, that now have inexpensive alternates are not included. Google these "names" if info is desired on them.
1. The newest and certainly the least expensive "brain training" method is the Neuroliminal Training (NT) system. This has now been shown to be an excellent and inexpensive alternate to both the very expensive Neurofeedback (NFB) training, and Hyperbaric Oxygen. Results are very similar to Neurofeedback (both EEG and HEG BF). For a fraction of the cost of those, it offers an affordable and much better alternative to Ritalin and other dangerous drugs for mid and low income families who simply cannot afford Neurofeedback or Hyperbaric. Both NFB and NT work to eliminate allergen affects causing mental problems of all types. http://ADHD-Autism.com for more info.
2. Allergens are almost always part of all "brain problems", There's a simple and free (except for some detective work) way to detect them. Even if you use the NT or NFB Training, this is a good idea! Check out Dr Bate's FREE Caveman Diet and pulse test at: http://drbate.com/Ref/pulse.html
3. For the ADD to Autism continuum (as well as depression and schizophrenia), there is a good possibility that mercury used in infant or childhood vaccines (or other toxic minerals) may be the real underlying problem. These mineral toxins MUST be chelated out of the body. There are various old and new methods of doing this:
a. Vitamin C in large doses: This has two advantages; it's relatively cheap, and it's good for overall health. In my former practice, I used it with excellent success in many schizophrenia cases. In general, it is very safe, unless the patient has an allergy to corn (not that unusual). For smaller children, I would recommend 1 gram (1000 mg) at each meal per 40 pounds per child. Overdosing only causes diarrhea, and it might be necessary to work up to this amount if such occurs. If a corn allergy is suspected, then use Calcium Ascorbate, either in powder or pill form. I buy the cheapest form of Ascorbic acid from Cosco, but my wife (with corn allergy) has to use the Calcium Ascorbate.
b. Injecting chelating chemical: A therapy where a chelating drug (EDTA) is injected into a vein for an hour or so in a clinic office. This is also quite expensive. Not recommended.
c. Zeolite in liquid form: A newer method taken by mouth (and relatively expensive). This is actually a form of lava rock that is very porous, and this porosity attracts heavy metals (mercury, lead, copper, etc) binds to it, and carries it out via the urine/kidney pathway. The reports are excellent, but it's marketed by a sort of MultiLevelMarketing (MLM) scheme that makes it more expensive. Base retail price is about $50, but if you become a distributor, it drops to $33 or so. You can get more details by Googling "zeolite".
d. Glutathione Supplements: There's a (new to me) supplement specifically designed to raise Glutathione levels in the body. Glutathione is a natural combination of amino acids that is a powerful anti-oxident with several other interesting features:
It's a major part of the immune system often overlooked by scientists.
Glutathione detoxifies the body by taking poisons, including mercury and other toxic minerals out. (Similar to chelation, but most other toxins as well as minerals.)
It's not absorbed well when taken as a direct supplement. This is important as there are many supplements that contain glutathione that are not generally effective.
Low levels of glutathione are found in all autistic children, as well as many other sick or toxic persons. These low levels do not allow excretion well. This explains why hair, blood, and urine tests of mercury (and other minerals) do not show accurately what is stored in the body.
Price of supplement program - $85 for a 28 day supply. Again not cheap, but this seems to be worth the price if you can afford it. For more details go to: http://maxgxl.com/brainadvance
4. There's a company that advocates a special "Body Ecology Diet", This has had good success with autism and virtually all other health issues. It includes many products designed to effectively make the human body work better and more efficiently. It includes some very good probiotics as well as others that help get rid of yeast overgrowth & the "Leaky Gut Syndrome". Again, not cheap, but worth it, if it is affordable for your family. For more information: http://www.bodyecology.com
5. What do digestive enzymes have to do with ADD/ADHD and autism? A "leaky" gut syndrome" produces more allergy/sensitivity, and enzymes with meals break down the food better lessening the need for the "leaky gut". This has helped many ADD/ADHD as well as autistic persons.
a. There is a bulletin board sponsored by Kirkman Labs that has a forum on special digestive enzymes. Join at: enzymesandautism-subscribe@yahoogroups.com.
b. Another company that has an excellent line of enzymes is New Beginnings. In addition to the enzymes, they have a lot of Gluten/Casein Free Nutritional Supplements, and a "purified source" of cholesterol (see below). Info and catalogs at http://nbnus.com
6. At the recent Orlando conference, I also learned that many autistics have low cholesterol, and supplementing with two egg yolks a day may improve many symptoms. This is certainly easy and cheap to try. If the person has an allergy to eggs (not uncommon) then a "purified" cholesterol may be obtained from the New Beginnings supplier above that is non allergenic.
7. For autistic (and ADD/ADHD) children, there's a lot of evidence that a gluten free and dairy free diet can help considerably. Google gfcf for more info. (The Caveman Diet above includes this and many more of the commonly allergenic foods. Try it for a week or so, then switch to gfcf.)
8. The latest research also shows that supplementing with fish oil can dramatically improve the ADD-Autism set of problems. I use the salmon fish oil from Our Health Co-op (http://www.ourhealthcoop.com) This web based health food store is one of the best for both quality and pricing. (I have no financial interest in this company or Solgar, but I do buy several supplements from them.)
9. There's a drug therapy called LDN (Low Dose Naltrexone). While it is a drug, it seems that in low doses, it can significantly decrease many disease problems (symptoms) in autism, HIV/Aids, cancers, etc. For more information http://www.lowdosenaltrexone.org Some good results for autistics have been reported.
10. Another new nutritional "therapy" consists of supplemental glyconutrients. A company called Mannotech is marketing these by an MLM (which I hate), and they apparently are helping with some ADD-Autism symptoms. For more details on glyconutrients - a new found essential nutrient - check out both Mannotech and glyconutrients by googling them.
11. There's also a therapy technique called EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) that has also shown some good results with ADD/ADHD, depression, etc. This was put together by Gary Craig, and his website containing lots of free and almost free information may be found at http://www.emofree.com
12. Some have had good results with NAET (Nambudripad Allergy Elimination Technique). However, results are mixed, and Dr Nambudripad has been unhappy with many practitioners who do not follow her technique carefully. There is further information at http://www.naet.com/subscribers/index_ns.html
13. There's a system similar to NAET called Bioset. There's a book "Food Allergy Cure" by Dr. Ellen Cutler, which explains using Bioset to remove allergies. This can also be done at home as the book explains "How To". Check your local library and see if they can order it for you, or you can probably get it from Amazon.com. Google Bioset.
14. Don't forget a very important way to improve all mental "diseases". Help to solve the "leaky gut syndrome" by cleaning out the gut (http://drbate.com/Ref/gut.html), and by supplementing with a good vitamin/mineral regimen (http://drbate.com/vitmin.html. This should be a first step.
15. Finally, one of the oldest, cheapest & effective "remedies" of all - magnesium! It's been known for years as the "calming chemical". In our culture we seldom get enough and this deficiency may worsen many mental problems. It's safe as if you overdose, like vitamin C, you only get diarrhea!. Milk of Magnesia and Epsom Salts (Magnesium Sulphate) are two very old good products that are often overlooked today . For autistic and ADHD children in particular, try baths using Epsom Salts. It's helped a lot of kids and adults. I prefer Magnesium Citrate daily for supplemental use. I get this from the Health Co-op mentioned above.
There is also a lot of free information on my "drbate.com" website, and you can get a free copy of the full book "The Health Revolution" by signing up for my free newsletter on that home page.
Also consider joining the Discussion Group/newsletters/bulletin board moderated by Dr Bate. This very active group is devoted to Orthomolecular, Holistic & drugfree Therapies. Subscribe by sending an email to: Orthomolecular-subscribe@yahoogroups. There are many "experts" in all aspects of holistic and orthomolecular therapies who will happily answer your questions free. While a minority, there are still many people that are devoted to helping others.

Focus & Customize Your Fitness Plan
Fitness is a way of thinking and being. Fitness is physical and mental too: a healthy body leads to a healthy mind. The good habits developed in improving your physique and strength and stamina often pay off in a sense of well-being and a cleaner, healthier view of your place in this challenging world.
To realize the best possible fitness program for you, listen to your body. This means paying attention to its moods and rhythms. It translates to limbering up your body regularly through a routine of stretching and basic aerobics.
Regular, daily walking is an often overlooked tool in establishing a foundation for fitness. Its benefits have been praised for good reason. The oldest kinetic human activity is naturally good for us while avoiding stressing joints and muscles. A solid, crisp-paced 35-40 minute daily walk maintains an aerobic baseline, helps circulation and boots energy and mood.
Different people have different bodies, different histories of physical activity and varying levels of confidence in the physical realm. A fitness program designed for a 37 year old man with a background in competitive sports shares limited attributes with one geared to an 80 year old woman who wants to battle osteoporosis. Though her effort is just as valid as his, the mechanics of achievement will be different.
Fitness might be taken for devotion. If the body is a temple, then fitness programs might be forms of worship. True fitness is based on a sympathetic attitude towards the body. Body and mind, mind and body. They are meant to work together. Even if the mind is the body's master in some ways, don't turn this into tyranny. Many of our neuroses stem from a too-powerful brain that turns into something like an opponent.
A good fitness routine is varied and interesting. Designing a routine with complementary elements is good common sense. It prevents boredom. It 'works' different parts of the body. By mixing stretching, walking, weight lifting, sprinting and cardiovascular activities – and adding a favorite sport – you maximize your fitness potential.
Build a program that works for you, keeps your interest, addresses any health issues and improves your athletic performance. Consult with a physician and personal trainer, purchase helpful products - and get to work!
Do you want more energy and generally better health? Logic suggests you plan a general exercise and nutrition program that builds strength, cardiovascular level and stamina. The hardest part is to honestly evaluate your current fitness level and eating habits. Before getting strenuous, consult a doctor. Seek out good workout facilities and at-home assists. These could be jump ropes, barbells or hand grippers.
Make systematic changes to your current diet (many people just don't 'eat right'). Research nutrition, ignoring fad diets and radical cures to excessive weight. Keep in mind that most of us eat a little too much - and more than a little too many processed foods. Emphasize a balanced diet.
Talk to a nutritionist or read two or three of the many fine books out there on the subject. Eating right – which in almost every case also translates to eating less – is an underrated catalyst in an improved fitness calculus.
If you are an athlete or a reborn athlete chasing superior performance in your chosen sport, the equation changes accordingly. You still need to get a fix on your present level, and consider nutritional habits and changes within the plan. It makes sense to measure body fat percentage and receive a tangible view of speed, strength and stamina levels.
The differences are found in the focus and emphasis of the specific program. As an athlete, build a specific fitness program that integrates skills and attributes most appropriate for your sport. If you are a sprinter or tennis player, customize a program that you combines strength with speed and coordination exercises. A long-distance runner or rower will benefit from a program designed to increase endurance and stamina.
No matter the specific sport, focus on a nutrition plan that increases energy while reducing excess weight or fatigue. You should also factor in the days on which you compete, making sure your diet before and after an event enhances both performance and recovery.

Beating Back the Allergies
Allergies are one of the worst parts of summer for many allergy sufferers. For those who have acquired them, sneezing, runny nose, watery eyes and itchy everything start when the immune system thinks that the pollens and molds coming in are threats that need to be fought - and then overloads.
One of the best ways to combat allergies (besides allergy medication) is to give your immune system as much of a leg up as possible. Before allergy season begins (after you've been at it a couple of years in an area you'll get a pretty good feel for it) try to eat more vegetables and fruits, and cut back on the foods that inhibit the immune system. Things like chocolate, coffee, sugar and dairy all add to the overloading your immune system is already doing. By cutting back, you help your immune system to have more juice to combat the coming deluge.
Speaking of juice, some experts claim a juice fast is another good way to prepare your body for allergy season. Start by replacing one meal with juice, then two, then three, then work back up to 3 meals a day the other way. By drinking organic juices instead of eating for a few days, you can help your body to rid itself of the toxins that your immune system is neutralizing every day.
Add to that supplements like Vitamin C, Nettle, and Quercetin, and you can combat many of the allergens that will start to attack.
Some of the easiest defense is avoidance. Use the air conditioner instead of opening the windows, and stay inside when it's dry and windy outside, as that's when the most allergens are kicked up into the air. Keep your house clean and get rid of as many of the allergens as possible by washing things in hot water and cleaning regularly, and you can live through allergy season.

Come Back To Your Normal Life From The Curse Of Addiction
Staying slimmer is the common desire possessed by majority of modern women. But, several among them choose the way of less eating to meet the criterion, which ultimately causes eating disorder. Eating disorder is nothing but a type of obsessive compulsive relation with food. The patients engage in uncontrolled eating or bingeing.
This is really a serious mental disease and utmost care needs to be taken to cure the patients. In this regard, an eating disorder treatment center would be the perfect solution. Earlier, the patients of eating disorders were treated with different way, where the patients were asked to weight the food that they eat and then asked them to eat that in the public areas. But, now the treatment procedure has changed. In an eating disorder treatment center the patients are treated both physically and psychologically, which help to cure them completely.
Food addiction is another behavioral disease that is affecting several people nowadays. Work overload, stress are some of the reasons of this disease. For the patients the food addiction treatment centers are the perfect destinations. Over there one will get the experiences of all the modern treatments that are needed to treat such diseases.
So, if you are suffering from either eating disorder, any mental health problem, cumpulsinve eating disorder, food addiction or sex addiction then don’t sit back, immediately attain a food addiction, eating disorder or sex addiction treatment program. Remember, earlier will be the treatment more will be the possibilities to cure the patient and bring him/her back to the normal life.

Bowtrol Probiotics
Probiotics are dietary supplements containing potentially beneficial bacteria or yeast. According to the currently adopted definition by FAO/WHO, probiotics are: 'Live microorganisms which when administered in adequate amounts confer a health benefit on the host'. [1] Lactic acid bacteria (LAB) are the most common type of microbes used. LAB have been used in the food industry for many years, because they are able to convert sugars (including lactose) and other carbohydrates into lactic acid. This not only provides the characteristic sour taste of fermented dairy foods such as yogurt, but acts as a preservative, by lowering the pH and creating fewer opportunities for spoilage organisms to grow.
Probiotic bacterial cultures are intended to assist the body's naturally occurring gut flora to reestablish themselves. They are sometimes recommended by doctors, and, more frequently, by nutritionists, after a course of antibiotics, or as part of the treatment for gut related candidiasis. Claims are made that probiotics strengthen the immune system. [2]
The rationale for probiotics is that the body contains a miniature ecology of microbes, collectively known as the gut flora. A number of bacterial types are thought to be thrown out of balance by a wide range of circumstances including the use of antibiotics or other drugs, excess alcohol, stress, disease, or exposure to toxic substances. In cases like these, the bacteria that work well with our bodies (see symbiosis) may decrease in number, an event which allows harmful competitors to thrive, to the detriment of our health.
Maintenance of a healthy gut flora is, however, dependent on many factors, especially the quality of food intake. Including a significant proportion of prebiotic foods in the diet has been demonstrated to support a healthy gut flora and may be another means of achieving the desirable health benefits promised by probiotics.
Experiments into the benefits of probiotic therapies suggest a range of potentially beneficial medicinal uses for probiotics. For many of the potential benefits, research is limited and only preliminary results are available. It should be noted that the effects described are not general effects of probiotics. All effects can only be attributed to the strain(s) tested, not to the species, nor to the whole group of LAB (or other probiotics).

Dealing With Emotional Vampires
Almost every one of us has someone in our life whom we wish we could change or whom we wish would change; desiring them to do things differently or to be different. It might be a boss, coworker, colleague, team member, friend, family member or worse, a romantic partner.
Understanding that we cannot change anyone (except ourselves) is step one to inner peace. Step two is to understand yourself and others. Step three is change yourself. Step four is clear out of your life those people that are parasites or bring you down. A client of mine was relating to me that all the women in his life expect him to support them (on many levels) but they never support him. I explained to him that there are only two types of relationships: parasitic (one person living and feeding off the other person) and symbiotic (the two people mutually supporting and benefitting each other.)
A parasite can feed off you mentally, emotionally or energetically. I refer to these people collectively as emotional vampires. And when you are around them, you may feel physically tired, drained, sleepy, weak, agitated, low, small, inadequate, low spirits, hopeless, trapped or afraid.
Identifying the emotional vampires
There are many types of emotional vampires:
* Narcissist
* Controller
* Victim
* Criticizer
* Drama queen
Please note that I always avoid labeling people, and so, the above terms refer to a person's behavior and approach to life. Labeling people robs them of their power and in turn, can give them a reason or justification for their behavior i.e. "I can't help it; I am ADD." My intention here is to help you to:
1. Identify the way people in your life can drain you, (hold you back, rob you of your power, confidence and potential)
2. Understand the emotional vampires and their behavior
3. Become empowered by offering you some basic strategies to best handle, deal with and respond to those behaviors and people.
Narcissism
This person needs and demands constant praise and attention. He ignores your feelings and interests; believes that the world revolves around him or her, and almost always tends to turn the conversation around to discuss him or her.
You often feel invisible and pressured to compliment and praise him.
Victimhood
This person is extremely needy; often has a story of how the world has wronged him; has many "accidents" and "bad luck"; wallows in self-pity and misery.
You often feel like the parent and therapist to him.
Control
This person dictates and dominates you; he or she is rigid, rarely fun or spontaneous, often telling you what is best for you and how you should be living your life.
You often feel weak and trapped around him.
Criticizer
This person is highly critical, condemnatory and judgmental. He puts others down often and easily points out your flaws.
You often feel inadequate around him.
Drama Queen
This person needs to be center of attention 24 hours a day; he or she is great at getting attention and when he doesn't get it or his way, he creates drama and outbursts believing that the intense emotion is a healthy connection. This person can also be passive- aggressive: seeking your approval and charming while he has it, but aggressive and abusive when he doesn't get it.
When you are around this person, you feel like you are walking on egg shells, hiding your true feelings and riding an emotional roller coaster.
Understanding the emotional vampires
All of the above behaviors stem from negative experiences and programming. In other words, the emotional vampires feel empty and are missing something and thus they turn to you to fill them up with: validation, recognition, attention, approval, love, acceptance, reassurance, personal power, etc. No matter how confident and assertive they may appear, underneath, they often suffer from self-hatred, low self-esteem, feelings of inadequacy, guilt, shame and so forth.
Handling the emotional vampires
1. Mentally and emotionally separate yourself from their behavior: "I understand that the way others respond to me is about them"
2. Determine if it is possible to end this relationship - cut them off from your life
3. Become aware of how you feel around this person (creepy, tense, scared, weak, tired, trapped, shut-down, tight chest, etc) and if bad feelings arise, do your best to remove yourself from the setting as soon as possible (before the person can begin to drain or impact you)
4. Always respond with "matter-of-fact" tone and approach; maintain your calm and composure by listening but not allowing their words or behavior to enter you; imagine an impenetrable golden light around you
5. Breathe deeply before speaking back
6. Remind yourself that it is their intention to get a reaction from you
7. Limit your interactions with them as much as possible - avoid socializing
8. Firmly, clearly and openly state your limits and boundaries
9. When experiencing their tantrums and outbursts, imagine you are dealing with a five-year old child
10. Express compassion and empathy but place your limits
Tips to strengthen and empower yourself
The better you feel about yourself, the less you will attract or be affected by the emotional vampires, and the easier it will be to protect yourself and say 'no' to them. In other words, build your self-esteem, clear out your stuff (doubts, insecurities, negative emotions, etc.) Avoid socially isolating yourself because you can easily become hypnotized, controlled or dominated by the emotional vampire. Use the emotional vampires as a mirror to understand how they reflect you and why they push your buttons. For example, I once had a close friend who would often freak out over the smallest things, turning them into major dramas and disasters. When I took the time to determine why I would respond with anger, I realized that I would often do the same thing - turn small things into major disasters. I resented in her what I resented in myself. As I changed my behavior and perception of life, her responses had little effect on me and I was able to master the way to handle her, calming her down while not getting emotional myself.

Dental Implants: What you need to know
Dental implants are revolutionizing dental surgery and tooth replacement. People lose teeth for many reasons, including excess wear, mouth trauma, gum disease, and tooth decay.
Dental implants are more durable than dentures and bridges. They are a permanent structure in the mouth. Implants can also be used along with other tooth restorative procedures. For instance, implants can be used to support a dental bridge when multiple teeth have to be replaced. Dental implants can now be placed in narrower spaces in the mouth with what are called “mini-implants.”
The results are very satisfactory. Dental implants today look just like regular teeth. Part of the reason is that dental implants physically connect to the living bone in the jaw. The process of integrating the implant to the bone is called osseointegration.
While there is no 100% guarantee that a dental implant will be successful, the five-year success rate is 95% for the lower jaw and 90% for the upper jaw, because the bone in the upper jaw is slightly less dense than in the lower jaw. Reasons dental implants may fail include an improperly positioned implant, or an infection. Dental implants fail because the process of osseointegration for whatever reason doesn’t take place.
The latest strategy dentists are using with implant surgery is that dental implants are placed where teeth have only recently been extracted. This procedure can make the osseointegration faster by several months. This isn’t always possible, but implant dentists like to take advantage of the opportunity when it presents itself.
Dental implants are very successful in replacing teeth that have been lost to decay, disease, or trauma. Unlike bridges and dentures, dental implants are permanent. Because of this, and because they look so much like real teeth, dental implants may become the wave of the future of restorative dentistry.

Autism - What Every Parent Must Know
Autism - in all its forms - is, understandably, widely accepted as being a big threat to it all. After all, autism can take a huge toll on a child's social and communication skills, and their capability to adapt and adjust to new situations; and it does not make much imagination to understand that this can upset his or her life considerably for years or even decades to come. It is something of a double-edged sword that health professionals don't usually diagnose the existence of autism in children until they are 2 to 4 years old even though they echo that the sooner the symptoms are recognized the better.
It is also true those children who have autism, to a certain extent, have a higher health risk than those who don't. Studies point out that autistic children typically develop quite slowly than their counterparts of similar age and may also be more sensitive towards certain diseases and illnesses, including allergies, digestive disorders, and respiratory problems.
Autism is a mental disorder in which the victim's senses play a key part. It affects a person's interactions and communication with others. To discuss further, the below 4 paragraphs outline some possible symptoms of having autism in your children that you should be on the lookout for.
Children having autism respond in a very different manner to children without autism. They may totally ignore certain sounds - even their own name when it is called out! Those with autism may be less disposed to mimicking their parents' gestures (facial or physical).
Children with autism tend to be more lacking in attention span than those without; lacking the ability to concentrate or to pay attention to objects which are presented before them. They may also not follow movement.
Poor social skills is listed as a common trait among children with autism, as they are seen to have difficulty understanding another person's feelings, or to relate to their peers, or even to show compassion for another person seen to be in distress.
Then there is the "lack of imagination" consideration. To wit: autistic children can show signs of difficulty while playing some "pretend games" or in case of using imagination. Autistic children may only be able to link the very term "imagination" to events and ideas contained within fiction and so on. But it of course goes much further than that!
Establishing the autism signs in child could prove to be a challenge. But it is true that babies and toddlers are a lot more capable of communicating than most people believe. If you try to raise eyebrows at a non-autistic toddler, they will do the same. If you try to pass on smile, they will do the same. Autistic children are unable to recognize this kind of body language like non-autistic children can.

Breast Cancer Prevention
With the news of Kylie Minogue’s breast cancer, women worldwide have been concerned for their health. Breast cancer has been on the increase over recent years. However it is commonly known that rates of breast cancer are minimal in women living in China. When they move to the United States and switch diets their risk of developing breast cancer becomes the same and US women. 40,000 women are diagnosed with beast cancer every year.Eight out of ten women who have breast cancer are women who have gone through the menopause.
The Breakthrough Generations Study was launched last year which will be investigating how diet, lifestyle and childbirth has on the disease. This study should also look into how the depletion of minerals from our diets over the past two decades enables the disease.
Acid – Alkaline and Protein Diets
Cancer thrives in acidic environments and dies in alkaline ones. Cancer cells have been shown to live indefinitely in acidic solutions. Fresh tartrate fruit juice from lemons, limes and grapefruit have an alkalising effect on the blood. Wheatgrass juice has the most powerful alkalising effect on the body.
Cancer cells thrive in anaerobic (oxygen lacking) environments so exercising regularly is a very good preventative measure in keeping the body healthy. If human beings were designed just to eat protein, put very simply, we would digest ourselves. Our alimentary canal is 24 feet long to digest vegetable matter. Additionally much of the protein eaten by people on such high protein diets is pork that has been treated by nitrates. Eliminating salt is very helpful as is contributes to the death of a cancer cell by reducing its anti-polarity.
Isoflavones - Nature Oestrogen
Isoflavones ( genistein, daidzein, formononetin, biochanin A and glycitein) are plant hormones that have a similar structure to human oestrogen’s but which are five hundred to one thousand times less active at oestrogen receptors sites in the body. They have a number of important, beneficial physiological effects and can dampen down high oestrogen states, by competing for the stronger natural oestrogen’s at oestrogen receptors. One of the main dietary sources of isoflavones is soya, which is rich in daidzein, genistein and glycitein. Sixty grams of soy protein provides 45 mg isoflavones.
In the Japanese language there is no word to describe menopause because there is no bad effects from menopause in their culture due to the high level of soya products that they consume. The Japanese intake of isoflavones is 50 to 100mg per day – compared with typical western intakes of just 2 – 5 mg isoflavones per day. Blood levels of phytoestrogens in Japan are therefore as much as 110 times higher than those typically found in the West.
Apricot Kernals - Vitamin B17
Apricot kernels are, like most nuts and seeds, very nutritious. Among the nutrients they contain is one called amygdalin, which is also known as vitamin B17. Scientific research has proven that this attacks cancer cells, and thus can help prevent cancer from breaking out in our bodies. Amygdalin (vitamin B17) is contained in many hundreds of foods, but ones that are particularly rich in amygdalin have disappeared to a large extent from our Western diet. Peoples throughout the world who still eat a traditional diet, have been found to be largely free from cancer. These diets are rich in foods containing amygdalin.
Amygdalin is less toxic than salt and sugar. Amygdalin comes alongside the immune system and attacks the cancer cells directly. The cancer cells have within them an enzyme which unlocks the cancer poison in the amygdalin, and in this way the cancer cells are destroyed. Normal, healthy cells do not have this enzyme and are not affected. In fact they have a different enzyme which unlocks the amygdalin in a different way and releases nutrients. Vitamin 17 breaks down after this reaction into vitamin B12 which benefits your nervous system. You should only eat five a day. Scientists at London’s Imperial College are working on ADEPT therapy in which they use cyanide to successfully kill tumour cells.

Practical Measures to Prevent and Treat Allergy and Asthma
By allergy the immune system reacts against a substance that it is not supposed to react against, and the reaction is often exaggerated. Objects containing substances that commonly cause allergy are domestic dust, animal hair, household chemicals, chlorine, microorganisms, pollen, nuts, citrus fruits and seafood. Also bacteria and parasites can cause inappropriately strong immune reactions.
THE MECHANISMS OF ALLERGY
The total set of reactions occurring by allergy is very complicated. Many of these are the same as by normal immune reaction, even though they occur when they should not take place. Here are listed some of these reactions:
By exposure to a new substance, cells in the immune system learn to recognize that substance (allergen), and it learns to produce anti-bodies towards the substance, and a certain amount of antibodies is produced. The type of anti-bodies called IgE is the most important by allergic reactions.
IgE will glue itself to some cells in the blood called mast-cells, and stick out from the surface of these cells. By following exposures to antigens, these will attach themselves to the IgE-ends sticking out from the mast-cells. This will trigger the mast-cells to produce histamine and other signal substances. These signal substances will then spread through the surrounding tissues.
The signal substances will then trigger the walls of small blood vessels to leak fluid into the tissues and accumulate in the tissues. This will cause tissue swelling. They also will cause blood vessels to widen and thus increase the blood stream in the tissues. The consequence of this will be swelling and redness in the affected body parts. The signal substances will also make glands in the tissue produce more mucus, making symptoms like running nose and tight throat.
The new exposures to the antigens will also provoke even more anti-body production. The antibodies will also glue allergens together to bigger complexes. These complexes can clog small blood vessels and in other ways disturb the function of the affected organ.
The allergen-antibody-complexes are then recognized by the cells and other mechanisms that the body uses to collect and eliminate garbage. Eater-cells gather and engulf the complexes.
The immune system also will make enzymes that attack the antigens to break them down. Also this production is stimulated when antigens attach themselves to anti-bodies at cell surfaces. But these enzymes are not entirely specific, and can also to some extend break down components of the body's own tissue, causing harm and disease symptoms.
WHAT CAUSES THE IMMUNE SYSTEM TO REACT WITH ALLERGY TO A SUBSTANCE
In the beginning of the life of a person, the immune system has the potency to react against most substances in the body itself and the surroundings. However, there are mechanisms that learn the immune system to recognize normal substances found in the daily life in the early infanthood, and suppress the reactions against these. If this learning mechanism is disturbed, allergy can develop.
Allergy can also develop if a small child is never exposed to substances that later will be a normal ingredient of his daily life. In this case the immune system will not get the chance to suppress the reaction against this substance. Letting a small child grow up in an exaggerated clean and sterile environment can therefore cause allergies.
On the other hand, certain elements not being a part of a normal environment can cause allergies by repeated and massive exposure. Examples of such substances are chlorine.
TYPES OF ALLERGIES
Allergy varies according to the compound that causes the immunological reaction. An allergic condition also often implies reaction against a combination of several substances. Common substances causing allergy are: Pollen, domestic dust, mites in domestic dust, moulds and mould spores, chlorine, chemicals in soaps and cosmetics, animal hair, seafood, strawberry, fish, parasites, medicines like anaesthetics and antibiotics
An allergic condition may periodically get better or worse according to the concentration of the allergen in the environment. A typical example is pollen allergy with peaks in the pollination season of grass or treas.
An allergic person will often get symptoms from several tissues in the body, but the symptoms are often most prominent at one body part and give very specific symptoms at that site. Examples of specific conditions often caused by allergy are eczema in the skin and asthma in the lungs and lower airpipe.
THE SYMPTOMS OF ALLERGY
Any organ can exhibit allergic reactions, but often the symptoms are confined mainly to one organ or organ system.
By allergic reactions in the respiratory system there will be symptoms like: Itching and soreness in the throat and nose cavities, swelling of the airway tissues, increased amount of secrets in the airway cavities and coughing. There may also be asthmatic symptoms or fully developed asthma. The main symptom of asthma is cramping that constricts the airways all the way down into the lungs (constriction of the trachea and tracholes).
By allergic reactions in the skin, there will be symptoms like: Redness, swelling, red spots, itching and soars.
HOW TO PREVENT ALLERGY
To prevent allergies in an individual the best way, one must begin in early childhood.
A child must be allowed to get in contact with natural elements like earth, dirt, animals, plants, physical contact with other humans, and the like. This exposure to natural elements must occur before an allergy has developed. In this way the immune system will learn to recognize common and harmless elements, and not overreact against this later in life.
Research projects have found out that children having much and early contact with pet animals like cats and dogs have a less chance of getting allergic problems later than children not having contact with pets. This is contrary to what many people believe.
On the other hands, every person should be protected from early childhood from certain elements normally not found in a natural environment, for example chlorine, soaps and cosmetics with artificial substances, and food containing unnatural additives.
METHODS TO TREAT ALLERGY
The first approach in the treatment of manifest allergy is avoiding exposure to substances causing the allergic reactions. Even though exposure to natural substances can prevent allergy, exposure to an allergen should be avoided when an allergy already has developed. Ways of doing this is:
- Avoiding food one reacts against
- Avoiding contact with animals one have an allergic reaction towards
- Keeping rooms, clothes beds and furniture well cleaned
- Avoiding use of cleaners, soaps and cosmetics with unnatural additives
- Avoiding foods, drinks and snacks with unnatural additives
- Avoiding daily exposure to chlorine and other chemicals
- In cooperation with your doctor change medicines you use that may cause allergy with others
- Avoiding growth of moulds in the environment. This is done by well cleaning and keeping the environment dry.
Children are often exposed to allergens at school, and adults are often exposed at work. Parents with allergic children must inspect the school environment and require from the school administration and teachers that practically possible environmental measures are provided to keep the school free from allergens. An employee should require the same from his employer.
If you do not know exactly everything you react against, you can try to stop exposure to one factor after another, until you feel that the allergy alleviates, and then keep this factor out of your daily life for the future.
Sometimes avoiding allergens is difficult to accomplish, or make the lifestyle to restricted to be acceptable. Then one must apply medical treatment that alleviates the allergy.
A common way of treating allergy is applying medication that block the effect of the substance histamine, and thereby alleviate or prevent the symptoms occurring when the antigen get into the body.
Another way is desensitisation treatment. By this treatment one let the body get a controlled and gradually increasing exposure to the allergens over a time period, and when this period is over, one let the body get recurrent exposure to a controlled dose at regular time intervals. By this treatment the response from the immune system from the allergens gradually decrease, partly because the immune system thereby learns to recognize the allergens as harmless, and partly because the antibodies against the allergens are used up.
There are also natural products on the marked that contain ingredients that help the immune system to react more appropriately. Important effects of these products are reduced histamine secretion and increased histamine metabolism. Examples of ingredients in such medicines are: Methylsulfonyl methane, vitamin C, vitamin E, Echinacea purpurea, Quercetin, grape Seed, Stinging nettle, Coleus Forskolin.

Is Resveratrol Ultra Essential?
Resveratrol ultrais an age old anti oxidant found abundantly in the red wine and grape extracts. Resveratrol has recently triggered many interesting debates regarding the utility of the product in solving the age old problem of aging. Resveratrol is a natural phytolexin need by the body in subsequent amount by the human body. Thus, many of the Resveratrol manufacturers have come up with the supplement form of it.
Often these resveratrol pills are seemed to possess an enteric coating on it. In the stomach, the hydrochloric acid often eats up the resveratrol thus diminishing the potency of the wonder drug. So to keep it unchanged throughout the process of absorption in the market it is given an enteric coat.
As resveratrol is very potent thus the person using it generally needs a good mix of many vital nutrients is required. Ingredients like Vitamin C and E and mineral like phosphorous and calcium included in the compound make it more potent source of anti aging skin.
Almost 50% of all supplements are high on subsidiary ingredients but resveratrol ingredients are different thus they want a different treatment. Resveratrol is the greatest anti oxidant to ensure an all-round health.
Resveratrol ultra supplement is the best to ensure that you have a great heart condition, a stable blood pressure, a faster metabolism to ensure that one looses fat at faster and healthy way. To reap the maximum benefits of resveratrol, the contents of the resveratrol supplement have to be very naturally concentrated like the one within the red wine.
These are the conditions that are to be met to make that resveratrol supplements work really faster to achieve anti aging properties. This is the combination of resveratrol with essential minerals and vitamins. However, a balanced diet is needed to ensure that resveratrol work well and effectively.

Fat Burn Zone
The good old fat burn zone is one of the biggest jokes in fitness and fat loss workouts going. It's a shame that so many people believe in the fat burning cardio zone and that they have wasted so many hours on those programs.
I've spent over 17 years in the gyms and have yet to meet someone who got the body of their dreams by exercising in the fat burning zone. On the other hand, I've met hundreds of men and women, and heard from thousands more by email, who have told me that long, slow, boring cardio workouts do not help them lose body fat.
The truth is that exercising in the fat burn zone is the least important factor in losing belly fat. Instead, you need to focus on the following fat burning secrets to get more results in less time: diet, interval training, and resistance training.
Research and experience proves that you can't out-train a bad diet. So no matter how good your workouts and no matter how consistent you are, if you continue to eat fast food, sugar, high-calorie beverages, and processed carbohydrates, you're going to have an impossible time trying to burn belly fat.
And no amount of training in the fat burning zone will help you. After all, at best, you'd be burning 10 calories per minute when you do cardio exercise in the fat burn zone. That means you'd max out at 600 calories per hour.
That sounds like a lot, right? But compare that to the 1200 calories you can consume in just 10 minutes at McDonald's - or on an appetizer at the Outback Steakhouse - and you quickly see that diet beats exercise every time!
So take that "fat burning zone"! That's one big strike against you. Now for strike two. A recent study from Australia found that interval training - done for only 20 minutes, three times per week - resulted in a significant decrease in belly fat.
The researchers also tested exercise in the fat burn zone. And hey, according to the so-called "fitness experts", exercising in the "zone" should work just as well, right? Well, it didn't.
In fact, doing three sessions per week of 40 minutes of slow cardio did NOT result in any loss of stomach fat at all! This program was useless. It was a complete waste of time and the subjects did not get any results.
Finally, it's time for strike three and then we can tell the slow cardio fat burning zone to get outta here! We all know that for a perfect body, we need to do some type of resistance training to sculpt our arms and our abs.
But exercising in the zone does absolutely nothing for that. On the other hand, research shows that men and women who do resistance training can burn fat and sculpt muscle at the same time.
Just another reason to skip the long, slow cardio workouts. So instead, focus on your diet (eat more whole, natural foods) while using interval training to burn belly fat and resistance training to sculpt your muscles.
That will really put you in the fat burn zone! For more info on these types of workouts, get started with Turbulence Training today!

Do You Suffer From an Anxiety Disorder That Can Lead to Panic Attacks?
Learn calming breathing techniques to calm a panic attack. When a person has a panic attack, often they feel so overwhelmed that they forget to simply breathe properly. Many doctors, therefore, advocate safe breathing practices in order to help calm anyone having a panic attack. In fact, if you ever had a panic attack in public, someone may have tried to get you to breath into a paper bag. This may or may be a good method for you, but the fact is that you should know and practice your breathing exercise before you are panicking, because if you suffer from anxiety disorder, panicky attacks may be a part of your life.
Other relaxing practices may also be able to help your panic attack. Of course, you might find it difficult to even consider meditation when you're having a panic attack, but by learning this relaxing procedure, you can use some of the same calming techniques that help you to meditate to help you calm down.
Another great way to prepare for a panic attack is to simply know your triggers. Do you have a specific phobia? Is excess stress your downfall? Do certain situations seem impossible for you? When you know what triggers panic reactions, you can do your best to avoid or minimize these situations.
You should also be medically prepared for a panic attack. When you go outside of the home, take with you a list of emergency contacts, which should include your doctor's number, your local crisis hotline, and members of your personal support systems. You can use these phone numbers yourself if you feel a panicky attack starting, or another person will easily find this information in your purse or wallet if you are not capable of helping yourselves.
Also take with you a bag to help you feel comfortable and calm down during a panic attack. A crucial part of the bag is any medications you may be taking, along with instructions on taking it. You can also include any items from home that will help you feel more comfortable. This can include herbal tea, a stuffed animal, photo's, rubber bands to snap on your wrists, mints, hand cream, money, a puzzle book, and everything else that may help you relax, stimulated your brain, or distract yourself.

Acne Facts and Treatment
Teens are most prone to acne because of the hormonal changes that they go through during puberty. Most teens become very distraught about acne. This is the reason why at the first signs of acne, teens do almost everything to make sure that they disappear overnight.
What is Acne?
Acne can either be non-inflammatory or inflammatory. The non-inflammatory types are the whiteheads and blackheads. Pimples are the most common examples of inflammatory acne. Simply defined, acne are skin irritations or blemishes usually appearing on the face although it can be found anywhere else on the body.
When the follicles in the skin are clogged, acne forms. This happens because the oil glands get over-worked. If bacteria find its way to the skin, large eruptions can occur. Acne is referred to as comedones, microcomedones, papule, pustule, or skin cysts. Collectively speaking though, all of them are simply referred to as acne.
What Causes Acne?
There are a lot of reasons why acne forms. But there are many myths about it too. The most common reason why acne breakouts occur is because of the hormones. The production of certain hormones, more particularly the androgens, causes the sebaceous glands to expand. This is why acne is so common with teenagers.
The sebaceous glands, when stimulated by the hormone androgen, tend to produce extra oil. When excess oil combines with dead skin cells and bacteria, acne becomes the next formation to expect. Follicles falling out of the skin, when combined with oil and bacteria, produce the same effects as well.
How to Treat Acne
Teens and adults should not be too concerned about acne because it does have a cure. However, treatment rarely happens overnight. Normally, acne clears out on its own over time, even without doing anything about it. But if you want to make your face clear of acne as much as possible, the common medications used are available over-the-counter. And of course, good hygiene is beneficial.
The most common over-the-counter medications for acne include benzoyl peroxide, salicylic acid, sulfur, and resorcinol. When you have decided to use these treatments, you have to make sure that you read the label properly and use the product as designed. These over-the-counter medications rarely have side effects, but you still must follow extra care when using them.
If over the counter remedies to not seem to help, there are prescription medicines for acne available. This also means that you have to go and see a health expert and ask them if these medications are applicable to you. The doctor would have to examine you first before giving you access to these medicines, as they usually given only to those who are suffering from recurring major acne breakouts. Examples of prescription medicines for acne are adapalene, azelaic acid, clindamycin, erythromycin, and isotretinoin, among others.

Don't Be Afraid of Dietary Supplements and Vitamins - Even if You Were Burned in the Past
If you watch television or listen to the radio long enough, then you will surely hear an ad telling you about an amazing new weight loss supplement or miracle supplement. These drugs are guaranteed to slim you down, clean out different organs, or provide miracle cures for all types of illness. Truly there are still many people that are pulling up and trying to sell miracle health supplements that don't really do anything to benefit you, and in many cases actually hurt your health. It seems that no matter how much time passes there will still be snake oil doctors among us vending their wares. Many people have bought these terrible products, and they have sworn off ever purchasing any other supplements or vitamins.
Don't give up on supplements and vitamins just because you have been burned in the past. The benefits to your health are too important to let one poor experience force you to abandon them forever. In the future it is just as important that you are aware of what you require and products that will improve your overall health.
Multivitamins are a good starting point. Sure that isn't very flashy, and it isn't the newest craze that all the celebrities and people around the office are talking about; however, taking a good daily multivitamin is a good way to supplement your nutritional diet. Even for someone who is very conscious about what they are eating, and trying to get a full diet it is nearly impossible to get all the nutrients that your body requires. Vitamins act as the fillers to a healthy diet. A good multivitamin will provide all the vitamins and minerals that your body requires. Just like any other supplement, a multivitamin shouldn't be taken in excess. Yet, a good multivitamin has been proven to help fight off illness and improve overall health.
Another simple supplement that can be added to a diet is whey protein. Whey protein helps people to add additional protein to their diet. Your body uses protein to build lean muscle and to burn fat. Adding protein to your diet is very simple, and whey protein comes from dairy so it is easier to digest than soy based proteins. Like anything, you shouldn't take too much protein; but your body hardly ever turns protein into fat. Therefore, adding whey protein is a simple way to add to your diet without fear. When looking for protein one should find a supplement that contains at least 18 grams a serving, and one that is isolated and not concentrated. Isolated whey protein supplements contain higher amounts of protein, normally more than 90%, and isolated whey protein doesn't contain any of the fats and carbohydrates that other supplements contain.
Even if you have been burned in the past by cheap and ineffective dietary supplements, don't be afraid to research and add some good supplements to your diet. A good addition would be a good multivitamin, whey protein, and other healthy safe supplements.

Are You Considering a Tummy Tuck?
Abdominoplasty, which is popularly known as Tummy Tuck, is one of the most commonly performed cosmetic procedures worldwide. The trim, youthful abdomen that can be obtained as a result of this procedure causes more and more people to seriously consider it. Besides, with high quality and affordable healthcare solutions provided by highly specialised hospitals in countries like India, Tummy Tuck is now within reach of the average person on the street and not just to celebrities. Anyone who wants to improve the appearance of his or her abdomen can opt for this procedure.
A Good Candidate for Tummy Tuck:
People consider Tummy Tuck for a host of reasons. While the large majority of candidates are women who have recently had babies and are looking to get back into their pre-pregnancy clothes, men are also not far behind in choosing a Tummy Tuck procedure to get rid of their unsightly belly bulges. Older people who want to get rid of the loose skin around their midriff also consider getting this procedure done.
While the increasing acceptance of cosmetic surgery may prompt many to consider undergoing the procedure, there are several factors that make an ideal tummy tuck candidate.
Realistic Expectations, Physical Fitness and Future Plans:
The ideal candidate has realistic expectations of the outcome of Tummy Tuck surgery. While the appearance of the abdomen and waist area improves drastically, if you are looking at surgery as a shortcut to look like Halle Berry or Hugh Jackman, you are likely to be disappointed. The procedure is not a weight loss technique, rather it is used to remove excess skin and fat that cannot be eliminated through diet and exercise alone.
Other desirable attributes would include physical fitness, emotional health and non-smoking. General physical fitness will ensure a faster recovery. Since a person who is physically fit can generally be expected to be close to the ideal weight and physically active, there is less chance of piling the fat back on due to a sedentary lifestyle after the surgery. Smoking inhibits the ability of the body to heal, so a non-smoking candidate will recover faster.
A person who is considering losing a large amount of weight is better off doing that first through proper diet and exercise and then using the surgery to help remove the excess, loose skin which has resulted from the weight loss. Also, women who are looking to get pregnant again should not ideally go for the surgery. The surgery proves most beneficial when the family is complete and no more children are on the way. If a woman becomes pregnant after abdominoplasty, the skin will stretch again and the only recourse is another procedure.
Cost of Abdominoplasty:
The cost of the procedure varies according to the requirements of the patient and clinics/hospitals where it is performed. There are three types of Tummy Tuck procedures – Traditional Tummy Tuck, Mini Tummy Tuck and Extended Abdominoplasty. These procedures vary in complexity and a qualified surgeon will be able to determine the ideal procedure for you and give you an estimate of the cost involved. The cost varies from surgeon to surgeon and hospital to hospital.
To undergo the procedure in India, it costs only about a tenth of what it would cost in the UK or US.
Before the Tummy Tuck Procedure:
Before undergoing the procedure you and your surgeon will have a thorough discussion. Take some time to think your decision through and use your time with the surgeon to the fullest extent possible. Ask as many questions as possible and make sure that not a shadow of doubt remains in your mind.
Once you decide to go ahead with the procedure, you will have a pre-surgery consultation with your surgeon. It is of utmost importance to be completely frank and honest here; your surgeon wants you to achieve the best possible results from the surgery and with no complications. If you are taking any prescription drugs or have had surgery before or have allergies, this is the time to mention it.
The surgeon will want to ensure that you are healthy and fit; he will need your complete medical history and also require you to undergo routine tests for blood pressure, blood test, height, weight etc. It will also be ascertained whether your heart and lungs are fit enough for anaesthesia.
There will be a list of do’s and don’ts before the surgery. This may include stopping smoking because if you are a smoker it may adversely impact wound healing. You may also be instructed to stop taking some medications like aspirin or nutritional supplements. The surgeon will also advise you on what you can eat and drink before the surgery.
After Tummy Tuck:
The recovery will be carefully monitored and your dressings and general condition will be checked on a regular basis. The time of recovery varies according to the procedure performed and the general fitness of the patient. For a more involved Extended Abdominoplasty procedure, the recovery time is around two weeks whereas in other procedures, you may be able to leave the hospital in 2-3 days.
Expect the abdomen and surrounding area to feel sore and swollen, you will be given pain medication which will help you through this stage. Normally, you may be required to wear a support girdle. This helps in reducing the swelling and speeding up the recovery process. The stitches are dissolvable and you don’t need them to be taken out in a hospital. Your surgeon will advise you on how to take care of yourself when you get home. Take it easy for a couple of weeks and you are well on your way to complete recovery.
You must also ensure that the flatter abs that you have gained through the procedure is well maintained through diet and exercise. Going back to a sedentary lifestyle and paying no attention to food habits may pile the kilos back on and completely negate the positive effects of the Tummy Tuck.
Benefits of Abdominoplasty:
The most obvious benefits are a toned, flat abdomen and a trim waist. A slimmer waistline and flat abs improve the posture and create a more youthful look. Patients who have undergone Tummy Tuck surgery experience skyrocketing levels of confidence and self esteem. Bulges in the lower abdomen and stretch marks that are otherwise impossible to get rid of are also eliminated by abdominoplasty.
